We regret that due to the current Coronavirus situation the museum will not be opening its doors to the new 2020 Exhibition. The exhibition will open at some future date when it is considered safe to do so.

Museum originally due to open Saturday 11th April

New Exhibition for 2020. Rumoured to be on aspects of Dollar History, including local witchcraft! Watch this space for further details.

Annual Outing

We regret that due to measures taken to limit the spread of coronavirus (covid-19) our Annual Outing planned for Thursday 16 April to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum will not take place.


 Saturday 6th June – Dollar Gala

We will be there with our ever-popular photographic competition and a selection of items from our shop.

 Thursday 23rd July – Annual Strawberry Tea

Join us from 2.30pm – 4.00pm in the Burnside Hall for our summer event. As usual we also have a number of stalls selling baking, books and items from our Museum Shop. Come and make an afternoon of it.

Friday 18th September – A.G.M.

Please join us for 7.30pm for our annual general meeting

 Thursday 29th October and Friday 30th October  – Book Sale

By popular demand (and slightly earlier this year) we will hold our annual two-day pre-loved book sale in the Museum.   Please pop in for the chance to stock up on your winter reading. Open between 10.30am – 6pm on Thursday and 10.30am – 4pm on Friday.

November (t.b.c) – Quiz Night

A popular event for teams up to six people. Tickets include supper, and refreshments available. Come with your friends and enjoy the evening.  Venue: Academy Dining Hall, starts 7.30pm.

Saturday 5th December – Dollar Christmas Fair

The Museum will have a stall at the Dollar Annual Christmas Fair. In addition to our shop at the Museum which is open at weekends, we will be present at the Dollar Christmas Fair. So while you are there, a chance to get gifts such as tea towels and mugs and, of course, Dollar Museum Christmas Cards and our ever-popular Calendars for 2021.
