The Museum has re-opened.

The Exhibition for 2021 – includes a new history of Dollar timeline, the Dollar Flood, the Fair and local witchcraft! There are also new exhibits including a working model of Dollar Railway Station. Please go to our Exhibitions page.

Annual Outing

Annual Outing postponed due to pandemic – thinking about possibly going to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow in April or May 2022.

Children’s Competition

Our first Children’s Competition was held at Easter 2021, with two prize winners. We intend to hold another competition next year.

Dollar Gala

Following the cancellation of the Dollar Gala due to Covid, the Community Council is hoping to run the Duck Race in September, possibly Saturday 18th September.

Annual Strawberry Tea

Cancelled for 2021. Our summer event is usually held on an afternoon in July, from 2.30pm – 4.00pm in the Burnside Hall. We usually have a number of stalls selling baking, books and items from our Museum Shop.

 

Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th September – Dollar Historic Walk

Come and join us on a guided walk round Dollar – viewing places of historic interest.  This is part of the Doors Open Days 2021 in Clackmannanshire event. We gather in front of the Museum for a 2.00 pm start on both Saturday and Sunday.

 

29th October – A.G.M.

Last year we held a virtual meeting on Zoom. Arrangements will be notified in due course for our 2021 AGM which will be held on Friday 29th October, 2021. Details will be circulated to members in advance of the meeting.

3rd and 4th November – Book Sale

Planning is going ahead to hold our very popular Annual Book Sale at the Museum on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th November. After the long months of Covid lockdown we are happy to accept those well-read books and you can come and get your reading material for this winter.

November – Quiz Night

LATEST: Might be a virtual event via Zoom. Looking forward – this has become a fixture on our calendar. To be arranged. A popular event for teams up to six people.  Usually – tickets include supper, and refreshments are available. Come with your friends and enjoy the evening.  Venue: Academy Dining Hall, starts 7.30pm. This year – possibly held as a virtual event. Watch this space for more information nearer the time.

December – Dollar Christmas Fair

We usually have a stall at the Dollar Annual Christmas Fair.
