17. Murray Square and Clock Tower

One of the first bus stations in Scotland, instigated by Provost Thomas Murray who was worried about accidents occurring from the eight bus services (334 buses daily) which used Tillicoultry as a terminus at that time. As part of the Square’s design, Murray gifted the prefabricated clock in 1931, rose and rock gardens (now removed) and The Thomas Murray Howff for Aged Men, which was demolished in 2001.
